Promise

About Promise

Labeled as a hip-hop sensation, Promise possesses a proven and distinct ability to convey the truth. With a combination of intricate wordplay and a thought provoking approach; he has been said, by Peace Magazine, to have a "rhyme style reminiscent of Rakim." Promise, when talking about his style has said, "I'm impressed, they compare me to Nas, Common, Kanye West." Realizing the streets are saturated with more negatively influenced music then they can consume, he comes with innovative lyrics and reality based content that makes life easier to digest. This young man is inevitably on his way to becoming one of the most distinguished artists of his time.

Sustained by higher understanding and applied knowledge, Promise is known to leave his listeners in awe at his smooth flow and lyrical substance. Demonstrating superior skills as a hip-hop artist, he garnered much attention from fans, media, and industry professionals after releasing his debut album, The Promise That Heaven Kept, in late 2002. With many awards, numerous successful shows, and a few national televised performances behind him; Promise has made a considerable entry in the music industry.

Always making music, this artist is also recognized for his production and songwriting ability. Having been busy writing, producing, and recording with other artists; the signature sound of Promise can be heard on different mix tapes and compilations, at various events, and on the works of many of his colleagues.

Even with his already demanding agenda, Promise is continuing to work on his own sophomore album. As usual, listeners can expect that there will be something for everyone and there's a guarantee that it will be good music. Promise himself says "Some songs are fun n' some more serious, some for the young, some for more experienced. Got the good news plus stuff you could use too, it's true it's very good music."
