In order to effectively spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it is imperative that believers become culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. The Word of God is unchanging, but the means of delivering His Word are forever shifting. In order to draw the masses and inform them of the teachings of Christ, it is essential that they be approached in a manner that mainstream society can identify with. Hip hop is becoming increasingly popular among this generation and is the most beneficial channel of delivering a message of hope and salvation. God is blessing Christian rappers like DeQuan "Certified" King with the gifts and tools needed to reach today’s youth. Stepping out of the box and pulling out all of the stops, DeQuan King is captivating our younger generation for Kingdom empowerment.

While he enjoys these opportunities his music permits him, he also recognizes the importance of ministry. He believes that ministry must come before the music, because music is simply a tactic that God uses to deliver His ministry. Thus to maintain and develop his relationship with God, DeQuan is a member of Showers of Blessings Harvest Center located in Gainesville, Florida, under the leadership of Dr. Willie and Co-Pastor Linda King. Here, he is also the leader of Soulz on Phia (fire), a Showers of Blessings-based ministry. His group ministers at Showers in addition to various other church events around the city of Gainesville and its surrounding communities.

DeQuan King’s ultimate goal in his rap ministry is to reach and empower his generation, to help them realize and strive for the place God has purposed them to be.
