arted his michael Evans II AKA Mikal, was born July 15th, 1977. Born into a pastoral Family, Mikal grew up on the front bench of the church. He started his musical adventure in his father’s church. The emphatic statement taken from Proverbs 22:6, is quite applicable to Mikal’s life, “ Train up a child in the way he should go… and when he is old he will not depart from it.”Mikal began as a musician in church at about the age of 11. He learnt and taught others in the church to play different instruments and thus formed the Worship team The Conquerors. Mikal remained the leader of this group till about age 17. At this point he felt the drive to take his abilities in ministry beyond the walls of the church. This new vision evolved into New Beginnings Gospel Band.Known as the new kids on the block, the band immediately became one of the leading Christian Bands in the country. Consisting of all teenagers, vibrant and energetic, New Beginnings Gospel Band took over the music scene in Belize. The Group released a cd entitled, “Two Roadz.” The group lasted for five years and dissolved when the different members began pursuing their individual dreams.Mikal took three years off from direct involvement and upfront ministry through music. During this period Mikal pursued some personal development such as DTS with ~~YWAM, after which he got married to former member of New Beginnings Band, Indira AKA Lady Indie. At age 24 Mikal felt drawn back to Music. With the band dissolved and gone different directions, there was not much hope. Thus he entered the OBG’s Audiogroup recording studio, sold his car amoung other things, and produced his first solo project, “ A New Beginning.”It seemed that time had stood still, as this release immediately brought back the entire process of what the band represented. This album took Belize by storm. It also became the first Belizean album to be nominated for an international award, “ The Marlin Awards,” From the Bahamas.With these encouraging results, Mikal became motivated to pursue higher levels of productions. He registered New Beginnings Productions as a record label and production company, and ventured down his next production. The next project was a dancehall compilation entitled, “ Dancehall Outta Belize.” Immediately after this release the production company began working on several new projects.Now the president of New Beginnings Productions, Mikal continues to pursue excellence and reaching new goals as a daily process.
